Introductory Flying Lesson - Special

Learn the basics and so much more with this great pilots introductory lesson lead by CAA qualified instructors. With 20 minutes hands on flying time, your lesson will be one-to-one with a instructor.

Take to the skies with this great starter flying lesson and gain an insight into the life of a professional pilot. Fully qualified CAA pilots will be teaching you some of the basic dynamics of flying a fixed wing aircraft by taking full control as you fly some basic manoeuvres. Throughout the half day experience you will get to sample the life of a professional pilot, as you get so see both sides of being a pilot and the actual requirements of flying, both in the air and the ground preparation beforehand.

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your will begin the day with some pilot notes and a group briefing covering aspects of the aircraft and the lesson lead by a CAA qualified instructor. Once ready, you will be lead out to the plane and strapped in ready to begin your 20 minute hands on flying lesson where you will be able to take full control of the fixed wing light aircraft. After a short break for lunch you and the other group members (maximum of 8) will be shown around the aircraft hangers and have a discussion about the different types of fixed wing aircraft's. The experience will draw to a close with the presentation on pilot career options before being presented with a certificate of completion (counts towards gaining you PPL).

Maximum Pilot Weight: 16 Stone (102 kg)
Maximum Pilot Height: 6' 6" (1.98 m)
Minimum Pilot Age: 12 Years (except at Blackpool & Hinton where Minimum Pilot Age is 16 Years)
Adult supervision required for under 16s on airfield premises.

Please allow 4 hours at the airfield.
The flight itself will last 20 minutes.

Spectators are welcome to come along and watch you from the ground.

Flights are available throughout the year.
Please be aware flights from Beverly in Yorkshire are only available on Fridays.

Please wear warm clothes and soft soled shoes.

This activity is weather dependent please check with the centre on the day if unsure.
