Introduction to Gliding

Take the controls as you are towed 2000ft into the air with this unforgettable Introduction to Gliding. Experience the amazing views from your aircraft with your qualified instructor by your side.

Once you have been introduced to the aircraft you will be towed up to 2000 ft to begin your Introduction to Gliding. Your experience will cover everything from ground control, launching and take off! You will have the option of two different flights which will equal to 40 minutes of flying, where you can take full control of the glider yourself with the safety of your instructor by your side. The rush of controlling your own aircraft is extremely breathtaking, this experience is a truly treasured memory.

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre you will be briefed for your extended gliding lesson. Once the safety breifing has finished you will start to get ready for the main flight! You will meet your instructor who will be responsible for ensuring you get airborne. Once you've made it into the air you are free to enjoy the spectacular views. The instructor will encourage you to take the controls yourself, but only if you feel comfortable. You have the option of two 2000ft tows with appoximately 20 minutes per flight or one 40 minute flight from a 2000ft tow depending on the weather. You should allow 2 1/2 hours at the centre.

Maximum Weight: 16 stone
If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

This experience lasts approximately 2 1/2 hours.

This experience is great for individuals. There is no extra charge for spectators to attend on the day.

The Introduction to Gliding is available on Weekends only.

You should wear casual and comfortable clothes with soft soled shoes such as trainers, no high heels. All safety equipment will be provided on the day.

This is a weather dependent activity. Extreme weather conditions may cause the experience to be re-arranged, please call the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead.
