Ice Cream and Sorbet Workshop - Half Day

With this half day ice cream and sorbet class, your expert chef will teach you how to master the art of making a truly delicious guilty pleasure...there will be no curdled custards here!

An utterly unique cookery experience, the Half Day Ice Cream and Sorbet Making Class in Exeter is one not to be missed. Not only will you learn how to make deliciously thick and mouth-watering ice cream, you'll also learn how to properly experience the texture and taste, appreciating exactly how ice cream is supposed to be!

The class takes place at a modern kitchen in Exeter, Devon, and begins on arrival when you meet the head chef leading the session and the rest of the participants in the group. Throughout the two and a half hours you'll learn how to make unctuous Crème Anglaise, a variety of ice creams including unique flavours like ginger, black pepper, cinnamon, basil, and of course the classic; vanilla. As well as the recipes you'll also learn the professional skills involved in getting perfect ice cream every time, the best storing and serving methods, and cooking and straining fruit purees. By the end of the class you'll be an expert in all things frozen, and won't be going back to supermarket ice cream any time soon!

The Ice Cream and Sorbet Workshop in Devon is a wildly different cookery class, and makes a great experience gift for those who love to try new things. A great way to increase your foodie knowledge, this class will ensure you impress at dinner parties for years to come!

There is no minimum or maximum age limit as such.

As long as participants are able to handle all kitchen equipment (including hot pans and electricals) safely, they will be fine to take part - if you are concerned, please ask before purchasing.

This is a 2.5 hour desserts workshop with start times as follows:
Morning session:     9:30-12:00
Afternoon session: 14:00-16:30

Hot and cold beverages will be available throughout the workshop to keep you hydrated!
This ice cream and sorbet making workshop is not suitable for spectators, however there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops to visit in the local area as the school is situated in the city centre.
The Ice Cream and Sorbet Workshop can be booked throughout the year, usually a couple of times per month.

All cookery equipment, including aprons will be provided by the school upon arrival so there's no need to bring your own!

You are advised to wear comfy shoes, as you will be on your feet throughout your experience - open-toed shoes are not appropriate in the kitchen (safety precaution).

Please be prepared to tie long hair back.
This Ice Cream and Sorbet making experience takes place in a state of the art, purpose-built cookery school, so will not be affected by weather conditions.
