With this fantastic Hang Gliding Experience in Derbyshire you can take to the skies with an instructor and enjoy a magnificently natural flying activity with very little effort on your behalf! Ashbourne

Your Hang Gliding Experience in Derbyshire will begin with a welcome introduction to the centre, the Hang Glider and the instructor before learning the basic skills in a ground based session. Once clued-up in the techniques and skills behind the great flying sport, you'll be ready to begin the ascent to around 3,000ft - towed by a microlight to your ideal gliding height, you'll then glide back to the ground in a peaceful and tranquil manner taking in the magnificent sights and the exciting nature of being 3,000ft in the air! At the instructor's discretion and relevant to the day's conditions - you may even get chance to take the controls and light aircraft. A great oxymoron of the experience world, the relaxing nature of the activity is dominated by the awe-inspiring excitement of flying at 3,000ft!

It is best to seek advice from your GP if you are 50 or above or have any previous medical health issues.

The Hang Glider is equipped with an undercarriage - which eliminates the need for running on take off and landing, making it suitable for all age groups and also people with disabilities.

The Hang Gliding Experience in Derbyshire will last for around an hour in total, with around 30mins in the air flying the Hang Glider.

Your friends and family are more than welcome to watch your unforgettable Hang Gliding experience from a designated viewing area, and are encouraged to bring a camera to snap you floating around the skies!

Hang Gliding in Derbyshire is available on selected weekdays and weekends from January through November.
However, the weather plays a big part in the activity and flights can by no means be guaranteed.

All safety equipment is supplied by the centre.

It is advised that you wear old clothes that you don't mind getting a little scruffy and dirty. You should wear sturdy footwear with good ankle support like boots (essential that shoes don't have hooks on them). Try to dress for the weather with warm layers for the cold and sunglasses / sunscreen in the summer! Old clothes are a good idea. A strong pair of boots with ankle support and NO hooks is essential. The centre provides all other equipment. Bring a jacket and warm clothes in winter and lighter clothing, a hat and sunscreen in summer.

The weather massively dictates Hang Gliding unfortunately. If the weather isn't right, you may have to reschedule your experience - so it's best to check with the centre before setting off on the day.
