Experience Gorge Walking, also known as canyoning, and come face to face with organic thrills in this extreme combination of adventure and exploration! Your teams job is to successfully make your way through the terrain by any means you can! Over, under, across and through the gorge and its waters. You will be supplied with specialist equipment including a buoyancy aid to ensure your safety, so don’t miss this fantastic outdoor adventure and dive head first in to the Welsh wilderness!

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a safety brief and getting into your safety gear. Then, you'll be free to explore with your instructor as you make your way up (or down) a narrow, deep cleft carved in the side of a mountain by the deceptively small stream through which you are wading, or swimming. Climbing up raging torrents, secured by your instructor's rope, jumping into deep pools and abseiling down waterfalls - you'll have a great time traversing anything in your way!

Please Note: You will be required to use your own transport to get to and from the activity sites. If you will not have transport available you must let the centre know AT THE TIME OF BOOKING A DATE.

Minimum Age: 14
Maximum Weight: 16 stone / Chest Size 48 (roughly)

All Participants must be confident in open water and be able to swim 25m with flotation device.
Under 18's need to be accompanied by an adult.
Gorge Walking is not suitable if you are pregnant.

You will be required to use your own transport to get to and from the activity sites. If you will not have transport available you must let the centre know AT THE TIME OF BOOKING A DATE.

The Gorge Walking Taster will last for half a day.

Due to the nature of the terrain Gorge Walking is not suitable for spectators.

The Gorge Walking Taster is available all year round, on weekdays & weekends.

All specialist equipment such as wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet will be provided by the centre. You should take your swim suit, a towel, a spare pair of trainers and a pair of baggy shorts. You'll also need warm clothing to change into afterwards.

Gorge Walking experiences operate in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding if the rivers are too swollen. Please check with the centre on the day or the day before your experience.
