Gliding Experience

Enjoy the beautiful countryside from 2000 feet with this fantastic Gliding Experience. Take the controls or just enjoy the experience as the qualified instructor is with you at all times.

This exhilarating gliding experience takes you up to the clouds and back as you coast above the most beautiful views of the English countryside. Enjoy a calm and relaxed flight whilst taking in the natural scenery and vast landscapes the countryside below has to offer. Once you have ascended to 2000 feet you will have time to absorb the picturesque views and even take control of the flight if you feel up to it!

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your gliding experience will begin with the necessary paperwork, covering the declaration of flight. Then, once the paperwork is complete you will meet the instructor and have a short safety briefing before getting ready for the main event! Once at the launch point you'll meet the launch marshall who is responsible for ensuring you get airborne. Once aloft, you can expect to glide from 2000 feet, which will take around 30 mins. You will be encouraged to take the controls yourself by the instructor if you feel comfortable, but it is of course entirely up to you.

Minimum Age: 14 Years Old
Maximum Weight: 104kg, (230lbs, 16.3 stone)
Maximum Height: 190cm (6'3") - Any height above this is difficult, please enquire if you are unsure.
You will need to seek medical advice if you suffer from any conditions such as epilepsy.
If you satisfy the requirements for a driving license then you are generally OK to glide.

Expect to be at the centre for around 1.5 hours, with around 30mins of gliding time once in the air.

Spectators are welcome to watch you depart on your flight.

Gliding is available at weekends and on some weekdays from April to September.

Comfortable casual clothes are fine. All equipment is provided by the centre.

Rain, high winds or poor visibility restricts gliding. You should call the centre on the day before setting off.
