Glass Making Experience

Learn the fascinating art of glass making with this fantastic hands on experience. By the end of the day you will have produced a beautiful piece of glass.

Enjoy this fantastic 1 day course in the art of Glass Making. With just one other student on the course this an extremely personal and fascinating day. You will be using state-of-the-art equipment under the instruction of a professional glass maker ensuring you progress quickly and produce your own piece of beautiful glass. By the end of the day you will even get to try your hand at glass blowing.

Aylesbury

Your glass making experience will begin at 10.30am with a welcome to the studio by your professional glass making instructor. After a short safety brief and introduction to the equipment you will be using, you will begin by learning to gather glass from the furnace, shaping and applying colour. After a short break for lunch, you will start to put the skills you learnt in the morning session into practice as you make a piece to take home such as a paper weight.

Please note: Your piece will not be available to take home on the day as it will need to fired in the kiln for hardening.

Minimum Age: 18+
Basic level of fitness (on your feet most of the day)

10.30 to 16.30, with break for lunch

No more than 1 per participant (but the day is not designed to keep spectators interested)

This experience is available on selected Friday, Saturday and Sundays throughout the year.

Comfortable clothing (will get hot and dirty). Avoid flammable materials. Trousers (no skirts)
Participants may wish to bring other clothing to change into at the end of the day.

This experience is not effected by the weather.
