Young People's Half Day Falconry

Young person's chance to enjoy a half day with some of the most amazing creatures on the planet. Watch and control the amazing birds of prey with professional help.

This is an amazing opportunity to get up close and personal with the very wonderful and fascinating Birds of Prey. A great chance for your little one to get back to nature and have an encouter to remember for the rest of their lives! This is a unique way to learn about these majestic birds and see them perform in their natural habitat. A fantastic experience and totally hands on!

Their taster will begin with an introduction to the expert falconer for the day. Your child will then be guided round the aviaries to be briefly shown the spectacular array of birds that vary from Owls, Kestrels and Buzzards to Hawks. They will learn the way to handle these fantastic and powerful birds, ready for moving from handling to flying. They will be taught how to engage with the birds (several different types) and have them come to your child as they soar. The falconer will demonstrate and show you how to lure and work the birds in styles that have changed little in many years. What an amazing day!

For children (young adults) aged between 13 -16. You must have an adult accompany you on the day.

This experience lasts 3 hours. Please allow at least 4 hours at the centre.

Their will be a maximum group size of 6.

This experience is available year round on various dates throughout the year.

You will need to dress comfortably and appropriately for the outdoors. Wellies would be a good idea.

As this experience is outdoors it can be affected by the weather. If in any doubt then please get in touch with the centre before heading off.
