This experience allows you the chance to fly with the birds and appreciate our fantastic planet from a different perspective. The amazing Tandem Hang Glide experience will take your breath away as you appreciate the tranquil beauty reserved only for the winged creatures of Earth.You will begin the experience when a microlight tows you and your instructor to a height of around 2000ft. Run your fingers through the clouds or simply sit back and enjoy the views. This really is a unique experience and once in a lifetime type feeling of amazement. You can enjoy the breath taking views and the rush of controlling your aerial fears all in one great experience, plus the descent back to Earth is brilliant fun!

Upminster

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a safety briefing covering the equipment and a pre flight briefing. You will then be harnessed into the hang glider with your instructor before setting off on your aerial adventure!  The microlight will start and begin towing the glider up into the air for your thrilling ride, gaining height all of the way you can relax and just simply absorb the surrounding beauty. At 2000ft the towline will be jettisoned and you and your instructor will glide free and silent in complete awe of the spectacular views overlooking the beautiful countryside. An experience only witnessed thus far by our feathered friends. You may even get to take the controls and fly the hang glider yourself, or just enjoy the thrill of being chaperoned through traffic-less beauty!

Minimum Age: 16
Maximum Weight: 13.5 stone
You must give details of any medical condition that may affect your ability. If you are in any doubt, please contact your GP for advice.
The hang glider is equipped with its own undercarriage which eliminates the need for running on take off and landing and is therefore suitable for all age groups and people with disabilities.

You should allow a full morning for morning flights or until sunset for afternoon flights. You time at the centre will include a full briefing of safety procedures and the equipment, also flight times will vary depending upon weather conditions.
You can expect your 'flight' to last 15-20 minutes depending on weather conditions.

Spectators are welcome and cameras are recommended.
Dogs are not allowed within the Airfield for safety reasons.

Flights usually run on 1 working day and either Saturday or Sunday per week (days vary between location so please ask upon booking if you have a specific day in mind).
Flying season runs from (start) May-Oct (end).
We advise you to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Wear comfortable clothes and dress for the weather. Wear closed shoes such as trainers and in winter it is advisable to wear two pairs of socks. The centre provides all other equipment. Bring a jacket and warm clothes in winter and lighter clothing, a hat and sunscreen in summer.

Tandem hang gliding is a weather dependent activity, so customers must call the centre for a weather check on the morning of their flight, (usually between 7.30-8am) or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) whatever the forecast.
