Well, it's finally here! No longer do we have to sit and question if Jamiroquai is really a good driver, or if Simon Cowell is any better for that matter. The 'Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' has become a fixture on Britain's favourite car show; Top Gear, and supplies us with a weekly chuckle as we watch the celebrities struggle their way around the track. Over the course of a year, everyone's lap times will be recorded, noted and placed on the leader-board until the top 5 have been defined. Those 5 fastest lap time getters will be invited back for an intense showdown where the winner will be presented with a trophy and £1000!! Your every move will be filmed as you attempt to successfully negotiate your way through  the thrilling turns and challenging chicanes. Bring your own inspirational music CD for the ride and that extra bit of motivation. This is seriously good fun but is also worth £1000, so get your helmet on for this reasonably priced experience in a reasonably priced car!

Lichfield

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the track and this very reasonably priced car that you are to be driving! Then, once you've been fitted out in your overalls it is time to hit the track with your instructor as you are shown the best racing lines and braking zones by the pro. It's then time for some practice laps as you come to terms with the reasonably priced car and how this little beauty operates best. After all of this driving instruction, it is time for the serious stuff as the cameras start rolling, the stopwatch starts and you begin the first of two Hot Laps for your place on the leader board. Once you've tried your absolute hardest and hopefully achieved your fastest time, you'll be on your way back to the leader board to see how you've got on! You'll then be presented with a personalised driving certificate before the long wait until Nov 16th 2010, when you find out if you're coming back for £1000!

Drivers must be reasonably fit and have a full manual car Driving Licence.

The 'Star in a Car' will last around 2.5 hours, starting at 9.00am and 3.00pm.

Spectator admission is £10 and includes a souvenir programme. There are decent viewing areas to watch from and the day is enjoyable for family and friends of participants.

The Star in a Car experience is available on selected dates – both on weekdays and at weekends, subject to availability. Start times vary and can be confirmed at the time of booking.

You should wear warm clothing as required and ‘sensible’ shoes / trainers. Bring waterproofs in the case of rain.

In the case of torrential rain, snow or ice, this activity may be postponed for comfort and safety reasons – in which case clients will be offered a range of alternative dates.
