Buckle up and hang on tight to the steering wheel – this fantastic Silverstone experience will see you living out your rally driving dreams. The rally school at this world-famous motorsport centre has been established for over 25 years and the Rally Solo is the ideal introduction to rally driving for all different levels and abilities. Your professional instructor will simply tailor your experience to your driving standard. You will receive half an hour of classroom tuition before getting behind the wheel of the Ford Escort MK2 – voted the world's greatest rally car by the British Rally Forum in 2006 - for one solid hour of one-to-one tuition with a professional driver.

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a cup of coffee and an informal meeting with your instructor for the day. Here you will discuss the safety regulations and the principles of Rally techniques and car control. Your objectives for the experience will be set and discussed here, based on your previous experience. (Don't worry if you've never driven a Rally Car before, the instructor will tailor the experience to your requirements). Then it's time get your gear on and get out on the track! The instructor will take you around the stage, demonstrating the techniques of Rally driving, including power sliding, handbrake turns and pendulum slides. Then, it's over to you to begin practicing these new found techniques on the authentic gravel Rally stage, through a sequence of tight corners and sweeping bends. Then to finish this superb Rally driving experience, you'll be treated to a 'hot seat ride' - where the instructor will demonstrate the true power of the Ford escort MK2. This will be followed by a discussion of your progress with relation to your objectives before you are awarded with your 'Rally Solo' certificate.

The Silverstone Rally Solo will last for 1.5hours, with 30 minutes of classroom theory and 1 solid hour of one-to-one tuition.

Spectators are very welcome and may be treated to a passenger ride (subject to availability). Tea and coffee facilities are also available at the site. Pets are NOT allowed on the site.

This experience is available on selected dates throughout the year, usually Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays with the occasional Sunday.

Please dress in casual and comfortable clothes, with flat bottomed shoes such as trainers. It is advised that you wear layers as these can be easily added or removed - the car can get quite toasty and the outside can be very chilly!

The Silverstone Rally Solo will operate in most weather conditions, including snow - However the stage can be affected by the most extreme conditions and may impair the quality of experience. In this instance, you can reschedule your date and time with the centre.
