Join Pat Chapman, Celebrity Chef, author of the Thai Restaurant Cookbook and consultant / demonstrator for Blue Dragon, Britain 's Thai ingredients brand-leader.
After a welcoming soft drink, you'll meet the authentic fresh herbs and ingredients which make Thai food so fragrant, and learn tricks, tips and kitchen secrets. Pat’s chef wife Dominique will show you some vegetable cutting techniques and she makes the green curry paste from scratch, while Pat demonstrate ways with noodles. They then cook delectable Thai dishes which will serve at least 6 people.
During your course you will understand the many fragrant Thai herbs and ingredients and see how the five most popular Thai dishes, including Green Chicken Curry and Pad Thai, plus a fabulous Thai salad are cooked from scratch.
To start, you will have a short briefing form Pat, then meet the authentic fresh herbs and ingredients which make Thai food so fragrant - shrimp paste, fish sauce, palm sugar, rice vinegar and much more! You will also be introduced to the different types of fresh vegetables and herbs that will be used to create these fabulous meals. Then comes the workshop preparations that are the key to making a good Thai dish, closely followed by the bit you have been waiting for - the cookery. You will see, smell and listen to how Thai Green Curry, Chiang Mai Fry Vegetables, Bangkok Street noodles and Papaya and Longbean Salad is made. Not only all this, but you get to taste everything that is made!
