Do you know how to control a skid? Have you ever felt the surge of excitement generated by a power slide? Now you can put your true driving skills to the test in a skid car. On a purpose-built skid course, you'll master driving techniques to control your vehicle in the event of a skid. Feel what it is like to hit black ice at 40mph and learn how to avoid a crash. This enjoyable experience will equip you with valuable experience that can do nothing but increase and improve your driving skill, heightening your chances in the unfortunate event of a skid. The course is perfect for those with an interest in car control, and an interest in improving their own driving technique. Key skills will be gained from a qualified instructor, including how to cope with dangerous conditions such as black ice, as well as how to deal with a car that is aquaplaning. Let it prepare you for the worst...while having a jolly good time!

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of handling the car and the tricky terrain that you are about to traverse! This lesson is all about learning the techniques to control a vehicle on difficult surfaces, and how to avoid a crash in such events. You will start behind the wheel with a 90min one-to-one lesson with the instructor at your side offering expert advice to improve your skills. Expect to be using the basic principles of over and under steer here, as well as ABS and how 'defensive driving' aids the avoidance of particular incidents. This experience will be tailored to your needs and to your specific driving skill.

Minimum Age: 17

All participants must hold a Full Driving Licence and are required to sign a declaration of health on arrival.

This experience will last for approx 90 minutes, with the full time spent driving on a one-to-one basis.

Spectators are welcome but there are no facilities for spectators at the skid pan area.

This experience is available on selected dates throughout the year - subject to availability.

Comfortable clothing and footwear with good grip is recommended. All other necessary equipment is provided.

Sessions take place in almost all weather conditions, however, extreme conditions may cause the experience to be postponed.
