Introduction to 4x4 Driving

During this fantastic experience you will have the chance to learn and master some of the off road techniques required to tackle all terrains, whilst fully testing the real capabilities of a modern 4x4 vehicle in an environment that will challenge even the most experienced drivers amongst you. This great introduction to off road driving is not to be missed as the skills and techniques required completely challenge everything road driving has taught you. Can you, and more importantly your vehicle, really go up there - and then down this - and through that? Well you will, and in style! The technicalities of off road braking and clutch control are opposite to those used on our roads, making this wonderful experience a unique joy for drivers. The instructors will show you how - then it's over to you. Our Introduction to 4x4 driving is a half day experience that will equip you with the skills required to begin your off road adventure.

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a safety briefing in the classroom theory session. Your instructor will teach you all that you need to know about 4x4s and off road driving, then after a short practical demonstration it will be your turn to get behind the wheel and experience the exhilarating challenge and unbridled enjoyment of 4x4 driving, where you will be mastering the skills and testing the capabilities of a modern 4x4 vehicle through our demanding course. Feel free to buy more than one voucher as this experience is perfect for four people in one vehicle (Reading) and possibly more if you would like to make a group!

Minimum Age: Between 17-18 depending on location (17 in Kent)
Maximum Weight:20 Stone
Full UK Driving License required at most locations.
If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

Please allow 3 to 3.5 hours for this experience and arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time.
This is a shared experience and the price is per person.
Each driver will have approximately 1hour of actual driving time.

You will be sharing this activity with up to two other people.

Spectators are welcome at most locations. However viewing may be limited for certain activities. There is a pleasant indoor meeting space where refreshments are available.

Introduction to 4x4 driving is available throughout the year (usually weekends).
In Kent this experience is available on selected Saturdays, however please speak to the centre directly to discuss alternative days.

The centre will provide all safety equipment needed, but please wear comfortable casual clothing and footwear that you don’t mind getting dirty. In wet weather a change of clothes is advisable. Waterproofs are provided.

This experience is not generally affected by extreme weather conditions, however if in doubt please contact the centre directly.
