Discover the thrill of sailing with this incredible half-day experience. Listen to the expert guidance throughout as they demonstrate a number of in-depth techniques and manoeuvres including steering the vessel and handling the masts. Enjoy the sea breeze as you explore Southampton's waters and come face-to-face with some of the largest cargo ships in the world! Whether you're serious about learning the art of sailing or simply wishing to enjoy a relaxing day out at sea, this incredible experience is perfect.

The half day sailing experience will begin with a full safety briefing as you get kitted out in the necessary gear. Learn the art of sailing from the qualified instructor, including an in-depth discussion covering how to handle the sails, steering and controlling the vessel, and ultimately providing an overall understanding of how the boat and masts work. You will enjoy plenty of hands-on tuition throughout the 3 hour course, as well as relaxing within the cockpit giving you a chance to take in the impressive views whislt the other participants practice take control. Your experience will draw to a close as you return to the port.

Maximum Weight: 20 Stone

If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

This experience lasts approximately 7 hours, usually between 10:00am - 1:00pm.

This experience is great for both individuals and groups alike.
Please Note: There will be up to 6 other participants on the experience as well.

Spectators welcome to wave off from the marina, however will not be allowed on-board.

This experience is available on selected days throughout April to October, usually taking place on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Due to the nature of this experience please dress for all weather conditions, including several layers of clothing, non-deck marking shoes (eg trainers/deck shoes, no black soles), shower proof jacket, hat, sunglasses and sun lotion.
Make sure you remember your camera!

This experience can be affected by extreme weather conditions. If in doubt, please contact the centre on the day to make sure it is going ahead.
