Full Day Falconry Experience

This is an amazing opportunity to get up close and personal with the very wonderful and fascinating Bird of Prey. For those of you who have never been lucky enough to have this encounter, or those who have but have not learnt the ways of the traditional falconer, it is a unique day to spend learning and completely engrossing yourself in the mind and world of birds of prey. A superb gift and fantastic day out that will never be forgotten.

Your day will begin with an insight into the ancient art of falconry and an introduction to your expert for the day. You will then be guided round the aviaries to be shown the spectacular array of birds that vary from Owls, Vultures, Kestrals and Buzzards to Hawks, Falcons and Eagles (Varies in each location). In some locations, you will be taught how to tie a Falconers Knot and be able to have a bird of prey join you on your tour round - whilst it sits right next to you on your gauntlet! You will learn the way to handle these fantastic and powerful birds, ready for your move from handling to flying. You will be taught how to engage with the birds (several different types) and have them come to you as they soar. Your falconer will demonstrate and show you how to lure and work the birds in styles that have changed little in many years. In some locations, you will get the opportunity to have the hawks fly in a group and follow you through the fields. This experience includes lunch.
