This experience gives you the opportunity to discover the ins and outs of starting your own allotment or vegetable garden. This course will involve an introduction to the individual elements of gardening as well as soil and bed preparation. Flourish the gardener inside you with practical sessions ranging from the basics of watering and plant care to how to grow edible hanging baskets and growing plants in a glasshouse.   

On arrival you will be greeted with tea and coffee as well as being offered home made biscuits before receiving an introduction of planning your garden and soil and bed preparation. After the planning session you will be able to test out your ability of digging a plant bed, sowing seeds and crop plantings, composting, plant care and watering your plants. You will be guided on specific ways to get the most out of your crops before being fed a hearty two course lunch. To begin the afternoon session you will discuss how to grow seasonal produce such as herbs, salads, asparagus and fruit trees, as well as growing fruit and veg in a glass house through the year. To finish the day you will be offered tea and cake whilst reviewing your original garden designs from the morning session and whether anything learned in the day has influenced any changes. There will also be a chance for any questions you would like to ask about the day you have just undertaken.
