Falconry Experience - For two

Experience the brilliance and splendor of flying a variety of incredible birds including Kestrels, Owls, Hawks and Falcons. Bring a friend or loved one and enjoy this real hands on experience.

Falconry is one of the oldest field sports in existence dating back to Japan in 680BC, and has been practised around the globe since for both hunting and leisure purposes. This fantastic experience will allow you and your companion to get a real hands on experience with these magnificent birds as you handle and fly the birds. The professional falconer will bring out a selection of birds including Owls, Kestrels, Hawks and Falcons for you to learn about, fly and handle.

Nottingham

Your falconry experience will begin with a welcome to the centre at the base where you will be greeted by the expert falconer. After a short talk about safety and what you will be doing you will head out to the flying area to learn about some of the birds and get your first experience of handling these majestic animals. You will then begin the Hawk Walk where the emphasis is on watching the bird in its natural environment whilst calling it back to your fist.

Minimum age: 12
Participants aged 12-17 require parental consent to take part.

Please allow 1.5 hours at the centre.

Spectators are welcome but at a charge of £25 as they do everything except handle the birds.

The Falconry Experience is available for groups of 2 on selected dates throughout the year - generally the first Sunday of every month, subject to availability.
For groups of 8 or more the experience runs throughout the year on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday - (4 tickets for 2 would need to be bought to go on one of those dates)

Please wear clothing suitable for the weather and sturdy, supportive footwear.
