It’s 2019, and what better way to start the year than to organise some incredible experience visits? Our first visit of the year was to Willows Bird of Prey Centre (great name!) who were kind enough to invite us up to Sevenoaks in Kent to spend the day with their feathered friends. Gemma and I had never taken part in a bird of prey experience, so we were exited to see what the day would entail.

On a sunny Thursday morning in Leicestershire, Willow and I set off to Launde Abbey to take part in a sheepdog training experience. We drove though the countryside until we saw a sign that said ‘Launde Abbey.’ We initially parked at a big house thinking this was the Abbey, but soon found out we had to keep driving down a hill, until we reached a grand building and parking area. Nij was waiting for us by his green pick-up truck, and after we were acquainted, he guided us inside for a hot drink. He explained that having a chat over a cup of tea is a chance for him to find out what inspired the customers to do this experience, so he can tailor the day to suit their preferences.

During what appeared to be a normal day in the office, Willow and I were surprised with tickets for the British Airways i360! With less than 24 hours until the event, we charged our Go Pros and our camera.

Meet the fun, friendly and absolutely fantastic meerkat family of Oxfordshire! Being an animal-crazy lady myself, this experience had been calling my name since I began my placement here at Experience Days. You can imagine my excitement when the opportunity arose not only to see these cute furry creatures, but to be able to feed and interact with them up close!
