Staff Review: Champneys Henlow

Willow and I have been fortunate enough to visit both Champneys Forest Mere and Champneys Springs in the past, and every time we have arrived at a Champneys spa, we have been struck by the beautiful country houses that stand before us. On a brisk Thursday morning, Willow and I set off to Champneys Henlow, and after a smooth journey up to Bedfordshire, we followed the ‘Champneys Spa’ signs to the entrance. There has been a recurring convenience of well-placed signs at every location we have been to so far, which helpfully direct guests to the spas. We followed the driveway through the forestry, and as we drove into the carpark, we could see a grand building through the orange-tinged trees.

Located in Liphook, a flourishing village in the Hampshire region, is Champneys Forest Mere. With four other destinations spread over the country – Springs, Tring, Henlow and, most recently, Eastwell Manor - Champneys have been able to brand themselves as offering the exceptional spa experience. The Luxury Health Spa Resorts are known for being Britain’s top country escapes for health and well-being.

There’s nothing I love more than a relaxing spa day, so when the opportunity arose to visit Champneys Springs I was overjoyed. Situated in Leicestershire, which is a 4 hour drive from our office in Brighton, Champneys Springs is favoured by many sportsmen and women – and you can see why, due to the cycle routes and long list of therapeutic treatments. After a delicious breakfast, Willow and I followed our trusted satnav to the venue, and it wasn’t long before we saw a sign that read ‘Champneys Springs’!

Glitter, magic and laughter. These are the three words that come into my head when I think of our experience at Petite Fairytale Boutique. On the 23rd September, I became the best cousin in the world! I invited my seven-year-old cousin Carla and her best friend Honey to take part in a fairy makeover that they would remember forever. At 8.30am we set off for Worthing, and even though it was raining, this didn’t dampen our mood. My auntie drove us, and I explained to the girls the exciting day we had instore.
